J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area is 60,000 acres of pinelands, wetlands and meadows surrounded by nothing. There are no neighbors, no nearby loud highways. Drive down the main access road for a few minutes and civilization disappears except for the road itself. There are few amenities at the north entrance . No restrooms, no drinking water.
1. Public access is allowed year-round except from 12 a.m. August 15 until 8 a.m. August 27 when the area shall be closed.However, on the portion of the North Grade between the north entrance and B-camp gate and on the portion of Stumper’s Grade between the south entrance and a roadblock designated by FWC, public access will be allowed starting at 5:00 p.m. August 25.
