10/4/2020 · Upon upgrading, I noticed that two of my UniFi devices are disconnecting at seemingly random times. They subsequently displayed “ Disconnected ”, “ Adopting ”, or “ Adoption Failed.” This guide is specifically for controller version 6.0.23, but should work with other controllers to fix the issue of UniFi devices disconnecting.
– Newly UniFi access point deployed showed up in the controller for adoption – Clicking “ Adopt ” did started the provisioning process – At the end of the provisioning ( adoption ), the access point show as “ Disconnected ”. Additional information : – APs were running firmware 3.7.58.6385 , 4/24/2015 · 1 – SSH into SP unit. 2 – Issue command – set-inform http:/ / controllerIP:8080/ inform. 3 – Adopt on controller (this is where it would disconnect and never come back) 4 – Reissue command – set-inform http:/ / controllerIP:8080/ inform (this is the missed step for me) 5 – AP .
1/23/2020 · Are you getting a disconnected ‘ message in the GUI for the Unifi controller when you attempt to adopt a node? Here is something that may help. There are any number of reasons why a node might fail adoption . SSH into the node in question, and issue an INFO command. This procedure may help if you get the status Unable to resolve, 1/23/2020 · Once done, open up your UniFi controller and head over to “Devices”. You should see your UniFi device listed with the “ adoption failed” error displayed. Click on it to open the properties window. You will now see a + sign to the very right. Click on it to bring up the adoption section.

To fix the issue: Make sure the AP is able to communicate with the router Make sure the router leases a DHCP address to the AP Ping the AP, 3- Open the UniFi Controller software and attempt to ‘ Adopt ‘ the device in question. As soon as it shows ‘ Adopting ‘ or appears offline you want to run ‘set-inform’ on the SSH session again, which can force it to save and start provisioning in spite of minor issues.
Press the adopt button. While it is adopting go back to the command line and spam (2 or 3 times) the inform command again. Now you should see if provisioning. Try that..
6/16/2012 · My Unifi controller is showing my APs as disconnected , yet my APs are working as expected, and have a blue light. This happened out of the blue, and the APs where showing an Adopting state in the controller, but where marked as disconnected . After restarting the controller, the APs have a disconnected state.
5/25/2018 · I had the same issue with UniFi – AP -AC-Pro that was already adopted, after updating the controller and trying to update the AP firmware it got disconnected . If you need to login to the AP via SSH after the AP has been adopted, the credentials can be found in the Controller under Settings > Site > Services section > Device Authentication.
